Hi there! I'm Victoria and I'm a contemporary portrait photographer based in Chicago. I specialize in editorial-style portraits, including family and newborns, lifestyle, and headshots.

"I'm not very photogenic," is something I hear quite often and also something I refuse to believe. In my experience, it's not about being photogenic so much as it is being comfortable in front of the camera, which isn't easy. Stepping in front of the camera takes vulnerability and courage, which is why being a portrait photographer is such an honor and a privilege, and something I don't take lightly.

Even though I firmly believe that getting your picture taken is a big deal, I don’t think it should feel like one. My first and foremost priority is making sure my clients feel confident and relaxed, and hopefully have some fun during our session!

As for me, I’ve always known I wanted to specialize in portraiture. This just means having people as my subject, at least in my opinion. Most of my inspiration from editorial photography. Not just fashion magazines, though those have a strong influence on me, but portraits in TIME, the New York Times, National Geographic, and the WSJ magazine. (Fine art portrait paintings at the Chicago Art Institute have impacted me as well, especially the recent John Singer Sargent exhibit.)

When I'm not taking pictures, you can find me drinking matcha lattes, talking to my plants (I mean watering them), reading a biography or memoir, watching a British crime drama with a strong female lead on Netflix, planning my next trip, or poring over magazines of course!

Interested in getting your picture taken? I’d love to create some beautiful art with you.
